Wedding flowers question? and Flower - Don't know the name.

Wedding flowers question?

Are you able to tell in this link which type of flowers are in the arrangements located by the chairs? What are some types of modestly priced flowers (hydrangeas)?
Does anyone know where to get these plant/flower stands besides a florist?

The flower beds on Christs Piece. The council change them 4 times a year.

Thanks to Van in NYC ( www.flickr.com/photos/vsny/ ) who says that they are - Fritillaria imperialis. A yellow form in the foreground ("lutea maxima") and the red form of Crown Imperial Fritillaria in the background.

When do Hybrid Tea Cup Roses bloom? and Race to Bloom

When do Hybrid Tea Cup Roses bloom?

I am growing my own flowers for my wedding. I need some fall blooming roses to grow. I have lots of mums and I want to choose some roses that will bloom at the same time as my mums. What varieties should I choose? Which roses are more dependable to bloom in the fall? Will hybrid teas bloom in the fall? I live in zone 7. THANKS!

Unless you have an unusually warm fall in zone 7, which is highly unlikely, hybrid tea roses and pretty much any variety of roses will be done blooming and would have normally lost their leaves by then. Hybrid Tea's bloom from spring until the first cold weather in the fall, which is pretty early in zone 7. Only mother nature is in control of that occurrence. My only advise for you is to get your roses from a florist or, another alternative would be to cancel the fall nuptials and have it in the late spring when roses are in full swing!....

I've tons of these tiny flowers in the backyard. Not sure what they are called, but they bloom only to sunshine and kinda follow the sun. I had borrowed a 105mm macro lens from a friend to try some focus stacking, but hadn't got a chance to try that. Instead took a shot at these little gems.

Why won't my hibiscus bloom? and Race to Bloom

Why won't my hibiscus bloom?

I recently bought a yellow hibiscus at home depot. The plant bloomed a flower every day up until about the last week. It just stopped! There are little things that look like buds coming from the spots where old flowers have fallen, they are tiny and the same color as the plant. When I bought the plant is was very healthy. I water it every day, and haven't put any kind of fertilizer in it. There are also little buds with new flowers to come but they are very tiny and are growing at an extremely slow rate.

Because a hibiscus is a shrub, it needs to carefully use its resources. It chooses some time to bloom -- that uses a lot of its energy. Then it recuperates by not blooming -- usually until the light conditions are right. Hibiscus that blooms twice a year is pretty much standard. It's not going to bloom as often as an annual plant is: it just needs to be more judicious with its blooms, because it lives longer. Make sure you fertilize and water it appropriately, and give it good light. It will rebloom in time.

Taking "urban gardening" to an extreme, Singapore transforms a bustling cityscape into a plethora of green spaces.

I believe you will find the referenced website to be helpful in describing the city of Singapore!

This inlaid area was at the center of the yellow brick road (some of the bricks were yellow, but not all) in the children's theme garden, appropriately designed with elements from "The Wizard of Oz.". The garden was part of the OSU studio garden for "Oklahoma Gardens!"
