Neem is a tropical dicot tree. It is tall, measuring upto 5-10 m. Flowers in month of March - April and fruiting takes place in month of May. The fruits are berries and can be used as planting material for next season.

The root is a tap root system. The tree show profuse branching. The leaves are compound leaves, and the number of leaflets is odd. The midrib of the leaflets is not in the centre and gives uneven division of the leaflet.
The flowers come in inflorescence, they are white or light green in colour

They are deciduous shrubs growing to 1-3 m tall, with their leaves arranged in opposite pairs. The flowers are produced in a broad inflorescence similar to that of the related genus Hydrangea. The fruit is a glossy metallic purple-blue berry.

"Dichroa febrifuga (Chinese: 常山; pinyin: chángshān) is an important herb in traditional Chinese medicine, where it is considered one of the 50 fundamental herbs." (Wikipedia)
