Documentary Photography Project on flowers?

So, I'm documenting flowers since it is so nice out lately.

I know I want it to have something to do with flowers but I can't exactly find out what I want my photos to "say". Someone suggested photographing all the flowers that a florist was throwing out sort of saying "these are the unwanted" type of thing.

Any other ideas?
