2-yes, to can their veggies
3-depends on what they like to have
4-yes, garden and pot, tomato's, peppers
5-yes, because they are pretty
6-yes, because I like to cut them, and then arrange them.
7-a sense of accomplishment, cost of veggies and fruit kept down
8-a hobby, relaxation, joys of growing something.
