1. It all depends on the flower

2. It's usually sticky because it excretes glucose for bees and other organisms to come and pollenate it.

Just as I didn't have a decent photo to represent death for Good Friday, this will have to do for representing new life for Easter. This is a beech tree (Fagus), with flowers and new beech leaves. The anthers are visible.
