Flowers of Giant Potato Tree
flower

flowering in Mt. Coot-tha botanic garden.
The flowers and tree are big and look spectacular.

Show: all my pics of "Giant Star Potato Tree"

It is Solanum wrightii, native to South America, and indeed close relative to ordinary potato.
(It looks similar to S. grandiflorum, or S. macranthum or S. crinitum - also native to America, and I do not know the difference between these species)

Flowers change (fade) their colour from purple to white.
