Why is my climbing hydrangia not blooming?

I live in Tuscaloosa, AL. We have a climbing hydrangia that we transplanted from our old home to this one in 2003. It is on the north side of the house and is vining good but it only puts off 1 or 2 blooms and the vine 7 feet tall and just as wide. We get it lots of water in the summer but still some of the leaves turn straight from green to burned, like you put a torch to them, when it really gets hot. What can I do to get this to bloom?

How much sun is it getting each day? Most Hydrangeas perfer more shade than sun..and at the very least some protection from the beating down hot afternoon sun. Also, are you fertilizing it? If you are how much? Fertilization is a must ...but you should not over fertilize it...if you do,,,,,you will get lots of vegetation and no blooms. Over fertilization can also cause leaves to 'Burn' - turn brown suddenly and fall off.. Also, with Hydrangeas...they sometimes take a year or two to get established after transplanting them.
