Wind pollinated flowers will contain no scent, color (other than green), have an absent corolla, and produce copious amounts of pollen. Many of the plants that are wind pollinated will also be dioecious, and have imperfect flowers.

Any of the showy flowers that smell nice, have colors and petals, and produce rewards such as nectar and food bodies will all be animal or insect pollinated. This is because the colors, scents, and rewards are all used to attract pollinators, whereas wind pollinated plants do not need to waste precious energy on such expensive productions.

I believe this flower is commonly called a "Straw Flower". It's about 1 1/4" in diameter and the shine is unbelievable to see. You have to look very closely to notice it. It shines and glows so merrily, I just had to try for the capture. Seen in a landscaped garden pot, outside a business complex in Tucson.
