how does artificial lighting affect night blooming flowers?

If too much light is shined on them, do they not bloom? What are the effects?

Please help.

It's the length of the dark period that makes the difference.

A Christmas cactus or Poinsettia, for example, won't bloom if you turn the lights on in the room. They must have the natural cycle of light and dark.

Night blooming cereus is also daylength sensitive. I don't know about all night blooming flowers.
