What are the best plants for a Fairy Garden?
I want to start a fairy garden with my 5 year old daughter. I don't have a green thumb by any means, but I want this to be a positive experience.
Any advice would be helpful.

It depends where you live but I like violets. My daughter and I call them "shy violets" because they hide amongst the leaves. I think this is where the term "shrinking violet" comes from. They are very low maintanence as well.
I also like Maiden hair fern, Buebells are a definite and probably some lavendar for the smell. Nothing prickly like roses - yuck! Pinks and purples are the best fairy colours...
