What supplies do you need to start a garden?

I have a garden plot but it's just dirt with some tanbark on top. what supplies do i need to prepare it? I just moved and i dont even have a hose.thanks

Think in the long term and start with realistic expectations on water, weeding, feeding, and other aspects of upkeep. Flower, vegetable, or landscape garden will Direct many of your choices. For landscape, it can be as simple as diggiggng a few holes and filling them with plants or trees. Nothing more is needed other than a shovel and a line-of-credit at the garden store!

A hose may be helpful though!
