How can I tell what flower I have?

I got some flowers from a friend, and there was no "name tag". I'm pretty sure the flowers are common too. The flowers are yellow, and has petals like a daisy. I say the flowers are look like chrysanthemums and sunflowers combined. The leaves are somewhat ridged, like "maple leaf" ridged. I really want to know what type of flower I have. Thanks!
