I have strange growths coming from my new hosta plants. They are growing stalks of leaves where they bloom?

I have six new hostas and they (in May) have started to grow vertical stalks where they would normally bloom in the fall. Is this normal, why is this happening, should I prune them?? Please give advice.

Don't prune them, its normal. If you prune them you won't have any blooms during the summer/fall.
